What it does
Reads what you already have
Lecture notes, slides, a syllabus, a PDF chapter, a Word document, or a photograph of your own handwriting. Documents are read in your browser and never uploaded.
Builds a deck that schedules itself
Flashcards drawn from your own wording, spaced with FSRS 4.5, so the things that keep slipping come back sooner and the things you know get out of the way.
Writes practice worth doing
Multiple choice, fill in the blank, short answer and word problems, checked before you see them. Difficulty is measured from how close the wrong answers sit to the right one, not asserted.
Colour codes the reading
Definitions, mechanisms, figures, contrasts and examples marked in your own text, so a second pass through a chapter is not the same as the first.
Answers from your material, not the internet
Study Buddy works from the pages you uploaded and says which document a claim came from. Send it a photo of your working and it finds the first step that goes wrong.
Keeps almost nothing
Your material lives in your browser. The account holds an email address and a password, and that is all. There is no copy of your notes on any server we run.
Where your material goes
Nowhere, mostly. Your uploads, the text pulled out of them, your cards and your review history are held in your own browser storage. They are not uploaded to a Crosscheck server, and there is no administrator screen that could show them to anybody, because they were never sent.
Material leaves your device only when you ask the tutor a question, have questions written for you, or upload a photograph, which has to be read by a model before there is anything to study from. The privacy policy says exactly what is sent in each case, and who it goes to.
